Palm Sunday is the last Sunday before Easter and the last Sunday of the fasting period. It initiates the Holy Week. In some regions of South Germany, small procession take place again, where a donkey carries a Jesus statue to church. The most famous procession takes place in Jerusalem, where thousands walk from the Mount of Olives into the historical center to the St. Anna Church. In many South European countries, the house entrances are decorated with palm branches.
