Since 2002 Canada celebrates the "Multiculturalism Day" on 27 June. It was established by the former prime minister Jean Chretien and should help to remember, that Canada is one of the most ethnically, culturally and religiously diverse countries in the world. This shows, that despite different ways of thinking, religions and skin colors, a nation has formed that commits to freedom, democracy and equal rights.
