Day of German Unity
3 October has been declared Day of German Unity in 1990. Since then, the unification of the BRD and DDR is celebrated on 2 or 3 days every year in a city which is defined in advance. These festivities attract hundreds of thousands of visitors every year with a big schedule, hundreds of marquees and a big ceremony. In addition to that many small festivities take place in the capitals of the German countries.
