Armistice Day

On 11 November 1918, the armistice between the Western powers and the German Reich was signed and officially ended World War I. Above all, New Zealand, France, Belgium and Serbia celebrate this day exceedingly until now. Traditionally, two minute's silence are kept. Moreover, picturesque bouquets and flowers of poppies adorns the memorials. The poppies should be a sign for the fields in Flanderns soaked in blood.
