Bulgarian Education and Culture, and Slavonic Literature Day
Since 1990 the Bulgarian Education and Culture and Slavonic Literature Day is celebrated on the 24 May. It is the memorial day of the Saints Cyril and Methodius. The Byzantine theologians devised the slavonic alphabet, translated the first words and spread the alphabet in Bulgaria, from where it has spread all over the world.
