The Chinese New Years Festival initiates the new year in the Chinese calendar and is the most important holiday in China. As preparation you clean the house with bamboo sticks and decorate it with lamps and new year ribbons. The city districts are decorated as well. The festival lasts 15 days and ends with the famous lantern festival. On these holiday people visit their families and friends, bring gifts and wish each other "new luck and joy".
