On 15 and 16 September the Mexicans celebrate the begin of the war of independence against the Spanish possessors in 1810. On that occasion, the whole country is illuminated in green, white and red - the national colors of Mexico. In the evening before many Mexicans gather at the town hall square of Querétaro to listen to the speech of the governor. The war of independence against the Spaniards began in Querétaro in 1810. In total, the Independence Day is one of the most important holidays in Mexico.
