On Corpus Christi, the body and blood of Jesus Christ's real presence is celebrated. After church, Corpus Christi processions take place where a wafer is accompanied by prayers and chantings through the streets. Special processions formed regionally, e.g. the "Antlassritt" in Tirol or the "Schiffsprozession" in Cologne-Mühlheim.
