The Thursday before the last carnival weekend is called "Weiberfastnacht". It is an unofficial holiday in the Rhineland and is celebrated from 11:11 AM. Men who wear a tie have to pay special attention, because otherwise they will be cut off by the women. Additionally, many town halls are rushed by the women. With Weiberfastnacht, a state of emergency of carnival cheerfulness begins and lasts until Rose Monday or carnival Tuesday.
