On Discovery Day the Canadians celebrate the first discovery of veins of gold in 1896 which caused a so called gold rush. Today, this event is celebrated with the so called Discovery Days over one week in Dawson City. Besides different varieties of art exhibitions, lectures, dance performances, a traditional Golf tournament takes place.
