Employees usually receive gifts, a so called Christmas Box, from their employers on Boxing Day. This tradition is known in the UK, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. It is an official holiday in lots of places and numerous sports events take place. A traditional cricket tournament is being held in Melbourne every 26 December.
