The resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead is celebrated on this day. Easter is the highest ranked holiday of the Christian calendar. At the end of the Holy Week there are spring festivals or bonfires on Easter Sunday. The Easter bunny hides colorful eggs and sweets all over the house and the garden. In some countries (e.g. Czech Republic, Finland, Romania) there are special traditions, where they sprinkle each other with water and hit others slightly with a birch stick.
